Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to making our website usable for everyone.
Our Commitment
As a disability support provider, InLife is committed to ensuring our website is accessible to all people, including those with visual, hearing, motor, and cognitive disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to information about disability support services, and we continuously work to improve the accessibility of our digital presence.
Accessibility Standards
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines are developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and are the internationally recognised standard for web accessibility. Meeting these guidelines helps ensure our content is accessible to a wider range of people, including those who use assistive technologies.
What We Have Done
- Semantic HTML — We use proper heading structures, landmarks, and ARIA labels to ensure screen readers can navigate our site effectively.
- Keyboard Navigation — All interactive elements on our website can be accessed and operated using a keyboard alone, including our navigation menu, forms, and buttons.
- Skip to Content — A skip link is provided at the top of every page so keyboard users can bypass navigation and jump straight to the main content.
- Colour Contrast — We have selected colour combinations that meet or exceed WCAG AA contrast ratio requirements for text and interactive elements.
- Alt Text — All meaningful images on our website include descriptive alternative text so screen reader users can understand the content being conveyed.
- Responsive Design — Our website works across devices of all sizes, from mobile phones to desktop screens, and supports text resizing up to 200% without loss of content.
- Reduced Motion— We respect the user's operating system preference for reduced motion, disabling animations for users who have enabled this setting.
- Accessibility Widget — We provide an on-page accessibility tool that allows users to adjust font size, toggle high contrast mode, and apply colour blind filters.
- Language Translation — Our language switcher supports translation into multiple community languages including Farsi, Chinese, Urdu, Hindi, Arabic, Turkish, Vietnamese, and Spanish.
